Sidney Sheldon (born in 1917) is one of the most famous contemporary American writers. An author of breathtaking novels, translated into 56 languages, which became bestsellers in more then 100 countries with combined circulation exceeding 275 million copies. He wrote more then 20 movie scripts and TV series, most of which he directed himself. He is awarded numerous national and international prizes; "New Yorker" magazine called him the richest American writer.
