Lem's proverbial, "The unknown is waiting for us in the stars" found its way into his most significant works of the 60's and 70's: "Eden", "Solaris", "The Invincible" and others. In these books Lem presents various scenarios of contacts with other civilizations, which are very different from ours. The author was able to visualize some unusual intelligent extraterrestrial life forms in "Eden". They are the victims of the unsuccessful attempt of biological reconstruction.
