Vasily Aksenov was born in 1932 in Kazan. In 1937, his parents are in Stalin's camps. School he ends up in Magadan, where his mother - Eugenia Ginzburg, author of the famous book "Steep Route" - is in exile. After graduating from the Leningrad Medical Institute (1956) works as a doctor. Debuts in the literature with stories in 1959. The first story - "Associates" (1960) immediately makes him popular, and the novel "Star Ticket" (1961) establishes the success and the young writer chooses the path of a professional writer. He is a recognized leader in the so-called confessional prose. Each of his book - an event in the literature 60. In the 70 years the problem starts with the publication. What Aksenov wrote now, it is impossible to publish in the Soviet Union. In 1978, he participated in the famous almanac Metropol. And in 1980, riding at the invitation of the United States, deprived of Soviet citizenship. Many years working in Washington.

His books have come to us again in the restructuring. In the 90 Aksenov back Russian citizenship, and now he is often at home. But mostly he lives and works extremely efficiently in France, in Biarritz. Almost every year he encouraged his readers with new books: "Volteryantsy and volteryanki" (2005), "Moscow qua qua" (2006), "Rare Earth" (2007), and thus to live the classics of the twentieth century came the real glory of the writer Century XXI.

The novel "The Burn" in the middle of the stagnant 70's turned out to be free from the pressure of ideology and of "internal censorship" on stamps of socialist realism, from all prohibitions and dogmas. In one book, the writer expressed everything that I can not and could not be: funny - about the Soviet reality, scary - on Stalin's camps, frankly - about sex, honestly - the scoundrels at every level, romantic - about youth and about themselves, and as always, piercing - the fate of the Russian intelligentsia. This novel was written simply because it could not be written. He broke away from the soul, like a scream like an exhalation. Incredible, impossible, impossible for a high degree of freedom in those years - a real Immolation prose.
